The K2 Professional product is intended for firms which require adaptability of the information system according to their conditions and specificities. The main feature of its utilization is its local adaptation through automation of the operations or by means of specialized functionalities. The users expect above all simplification of their work as well as programme support in the specific areas of their business activities. The aim is to bring into the application rules and procedures which can be considered as routine ones and it is possible to define their algorithm. The K2 Professional product is acquired by firms which expect from the information system a higher value added than only administrative simplification.

The aim is effective adaptation of the programme to the firm and vice versa - of the firm to the programme. Extent of such adaptations depends on frequency of a particular process and on number of methods for its solution. By inclusion of needs and specificities of the branch concerned into the information system structure, the firm achieves reduction of the operator’s error rate, obtains supporting information for decision-making and makes its business activities more effective.

The firm can create complex working operations and processes. By using the registered functions, the administrator is able to define conditional system behaviour derived from the inserted values or fulfilment of conditions as necessary in order to proceed in the given operation. In such a manner, it is possible to insert, into the programme, logic related rather with data and the line of business in question than with the document being created.

The K2 Professional product enables, according to the particular implementation project, to integrate simple functional actions into more complex processes. Contrary to the K2 Business product, the resulting application can record also repeated changes realized by the user when processing the business or production transaction.

Protection of the investment consists in transferability of experience, training of the users as well as operating procedures between particular products in the K2 Software line. K2 Professional has the user interface and control logic identical to the K2 Enterprise product.

The K2 Professional product enables to get the extent of the solved areas as in the K2 Enterprise version. The difference does not lie in the functionality of these products but primarily in the necessity of their additional acquisition. The degree of processing the individual areas as well as possibilities as concerns application are identical.

The K2 Professional product makes it possible to create differentiated functional actions such as reception of a demand, of an order, coverage of the order, reservation of articles, their preparation, release, invoicing, payment, booking, and evaluation based on the circumstances (user, place, book, cost centre, customer, product).

  TRADE
The principle concerning management of business transactions makes use of high-tech system as regards interconnection of primary documents items and is identical to the K2 Business product. Thereby, well-arranged and simple recording of demands, orders, reservations, delivery notes, release notes, invoices for goods, products and services is provided. Selective and continuous switching between particular documents while keeping the monitored item contributes to the comfort of the control. The K2 Professional product provides full variability with regard to the definition of cards of contractors/customers, articles, prices, alternate units of measure, stocks etc. Description of an item is more detailed (as compared to the K2 Business product), in particular as concerns batches, planned batch characteristics etc. Processing of business transactions and item movements in the K2 Professional system accepts these particulars and makes use thereof.

  PRODUCTION
It is focused mainly on creation of arbitrarily complex technological procedures consisting of items from defined categories. By selecting categories included in the calculation, the user can simulate various cost prices.

The K2 Professional product contains tools for creation of the algorithm for capacity planning. By using of planning rules and taking into account technological types, common planning methods (MRP I, MRP II, TOC, Kanban, APS) are created. By integration of the existing procedure, it provides the operators with a picture about possible deadlines and material coverage.

User interface and connection to the technologies providing information about production state is, within the K2 Professional product, usually solved according to the client concerned. The reason is necessity to accelerate, simplify, automate transfer of the information about the production in progress by the worker into the system or to exclude it completely from the process for recording the real states. By gradual rendering of production job cards, continuous information is obtained about the size of the production in progress and about any differences between the plan and the reality.

  ACCOUNTING
The benefit as concerns utilization of the K2 Professional product in the economic area lies in particular in the extent of possible presetting of the accounting acts. Thereby, the role of the user is significantly changed, namely from a routine accountant to a person deciding about booking of extraordinary cases. Therefore, the accounting department, within the K2 Professional product, can pay attention to the checks instead of creating records in the accounting journal.

An added value of the K2 Professional product consists in the combination of utilization of the analytical axes in the primary documents, special adjusted economic analysis structures and display of the outputs in the OLAP. The movements in the primary documents can be, at the item level, broken up into cost centres, contracts, products, responsible persons and another two optional classifications. By projection of the organizational structure, firm hierarchy, product groups, personnel classification etc. into the links between analytical axes, a basis is created for calculation concerning controlling tasks.

With regard to the K2 Professional product, implementation pursuant to a contract for work in cooperation with the supplier is expected. Before making such a contract, implementation project is developed describing processes used by the client. The contract made includes not only configuration and adjustment of the system according to the client’s requirements, but also training, testing and supervision when beginning the routine operation. Thereby, required functionality, the price thereof as well as realization dates are guaranteed for the client. Thus, responsibility for putting the system into operation is passed from the client to the supplier.

The K2 Professional product can be interconnected with Workflow functionality of the module used as a standard in the K2 Enterprise version. Thereby, process functioning can be completed with monitoring and control. The users run the process by appropriate manner and obtain not only an overview as concerns dates but also a graphic illustration regarding concrete process stage where they just are.

The K2 Professional product is intended for operation over Oracle or Microsoft databases. According to the data size and number of processed documents, version of the database machine and back-up method are selected. The K2 Professional client can be replaced by terminal access for operation within the firm’s network or for remote access.
