Production rendering is often the first point for adaptation of the K2 IS to client’s specific conditions and environment. The reason for it is not only influence of the environ such as dustiness, humidity, and higher requirements for periphery ensuring communication with firm’s K2 IS directly from the factory halls but also requirements as concerns speed, relevance, and self-service. The faster are loaded the immediate production results into the system, the more up-to-date is the picture about the deadlines and contracts in progress. At the same time, direct responsibility for data origin is applied and requirements for further administrative staff inserting current information from production are reduced.

Physical receipt and release of stock items by means of the bar code has been converted into wireless system for stock control. The issue concerning mobility of wired scanners has been solved and on-line information in the system has been achieved. In addition, it was possible to reduce applications processing the contract preparation within portable hand terminals. In practice, a solution using applications directly in the K2 IS script has proven successful because any change or adjustment is directly showed at all users of the mobile work equipment due to their wireless terminal connection. The stockkeeper completes operatively the particular contracts whereby correctness of each item is automatically checked by the system. By communication of the mobile equipment via terminal with the K2 IS, up-to-date information about the state of the contracts in progress and about stock levels, article location etc. is maintained.

The EDI (XML) format can be used for electronic business communication between the K2 IS and other systems of the customers and of the contractors. Primarily, it concerns automatic processing of particular cancellations used in the automotive industry or electronic exchange of documents in agreed formats within commercial chains. By means of loading the document incl. its items directly into the system, the time necessary for its processing as well as rate of typing errors are reduced.

For organizations using products classified in the VZP code lists, a module for loading items from these code lists incl. prices into the K2 IS to the article cards has been developed. The module enables to record and insert vouchers and, subsequently, to generate invoices for the insurance companies. The vouchers for particular insurance companies are sorted by article groups. It is possible, as a matter of fact, to generate benefits in electronic form so that the correction benefit received from the insurance company is processed in the system with retroactive effect. Preparation of statistics over vouchers included therein provides the user with operative overview.

The transfer of documents between the K2 IS and a weighing system is executed as follows : in the K2 IS, created orders from customers are processed at the shift end and, subsequently, groups of documents created in such manner are sent, according to the setting, to the weight. There, real quantity collected by the customer is weighed. Real weight (quantity) is sent back to the K2 IS and the quantity changes to the really weighed quantity in the relevant documents. The documents are automatically printed and marked by means of the weighing system simultaneously with the print of labels. In the K2 IS, it is possible to indicate, for each article, information about its name, composition, tare, durability etc. Such information is sent to the weighing system where a label with information related to the given item and real weight is printed for the article concerned.

At the self-service shops, comprehensive cash register system is solved in addition to the K2 IS connection to the electronic weight with direct print of labels. It concerns the possibility of sale by means of bar code, connection of registration cash registers, sales via PLU, support for all payment systems (incl. luncheon vouchers) and automatic creation of daily closing. These shops can be connected to the central both off-line and on-line, which enables, furthermore, to control time-limited price actions for selected range.

Chip cards used for identification of persons by attendance system can serve as a security element for starting and terminating the work in the K2 IS. A condition for starting the IS is usage of the card through appropriate hardware. By ejecting the identification card from the reader, the application is terminated automatically after the set-up time interval. Thereby, uniqueness of executed operations and check of performance of the responsible persons increase.

It enables to prepare specifications according to appropriate article groups for user-friendly creation of valid production variants. The system and determination of dealer prices are not limited by setting of permitted combinations. The result thereof is direct transfer of the selected variant into the job card. Thereby, creation and check of productability of the given product configuration is enabled not only for the businessman directly in the contract but also for the customer in the web.

Recording of working hours and check of entry by means of electronic systems become standard requirement in the Client’s environment. The K2 Information System cooperates with solutions delivered by leading suppliers of attendance and identification systems in the Czech Republic. Cohesion makes automation of a wide range of company processes realized in the K2 Information System possible, in particular computerized import of the attendance system data into the K2 Module Wages, user identification, contract records, production control and the like.
